Have a great, happy and healthy New Year!
NEXT SATURDAY NIGHT AT HOME
HOW TRUE IT IS
Another year has passed, And we're all a little older, Last summer felt hotter, And winter seemed much colder.
I rack my brain for happy thoughts, To put down on my pad, But lots of things that come to mind, Just make me kind of sad.
There was a time not long ago When life was quite a blast, Now I fully understand About "living in the past." We used to go to friends' homes, Football games and lunches, Now we go to therapy, to hospitals, And after-funeral brunches.
We used to have hangovers, From parties that were happy and gay Now we suffer body aches And sleep the night away. We used to go out dining, And couldn't get our fill, Now we ask for doggie bags, Come home and take a pill. We used to often travel To places near and far, Now we get backaches From riding in the car. We used to go out shopping For new clothing at the mall, But now we never bother... All the sizes are too small!
That, my friend, is how life is, And now my tale is told, So, enjoy each day and live it up... Before you're just too old!!

I went back to college at the age of 45. Graduated with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. Taught it at the college I graduated from and then 12 years later retired at the age of 62. Have been retired for the past 18 years and enjoying life each day. (Mostly) Putting one foot in front of the other. Only way to go. Keep smiling guys.

Good Morning All. Today I walked .75 miles on my treadmill. Was not even out of breath. To you young whippersnappers that may not seem like much but to these tired old bones that squeek when I kneel down, it is an accomplishment. Hooray for me! You Only Live Once. Enjoy today. | | | |

The day before Christmas and all in my mind are thoughts of my son whose wife hates my wife and I. Of course, she thinks it is our fault. We think it is HER fault. Nobody is winning here. Just taking my energy away from my wife. I love her dearly and tell her that about 20 times a day. I do not know how she put up with me for 56 years. In retrospect we have had a good life. Some bumps and rocks along the way but we are about as happy as we can get. Happy holidays to anyone who reads this.
